A ‘BohoChic’ Choker Collaboration

I am so excited to announce the limited choker range collaboration with BohoChic. I joined forces with the talented and beautiful Trecia Makhubele and Rutendo Masasi, the founders of the unique and fashion-forward brand to create a fun, funky and trendy range of chokers. Be sure to keep an eye out on these amazing women, especially when they drop their summer bikini range later this year.

In the meantime be sure to get yourself one of the amazing chokers that we have designed and created with you specifically in mind. The chokers will be available immediately till the end of November. The range includes various choker styles with each style having its own unique Boho and Aphiwe touch. It was so much fun coming up with ideas and styles to create for this range, and it was even more fun taking photos for the range. Read on to find out more about the different styles available and prices.

The Knowles sisters have officially killed the music scene this year. I know you’re probably thinking, why am I writing a post about music. But I just could not pretend that Solange’s latest album did not change my life and make feel so good about being an unapologetically black woman.

Fans like myself have had to wait for four years for Solange to finally bless us with the masterpiece that is, ‘A Seat At The Table.’ If you haven’t listened to it yet, can I just ask you what are you waiting for? This album will permanently be on repeat for me that people will probably get sick and tired of hanging around me. It is an album for black women made by a black woman, how much more magical can it get?

Victoria Beckham’s Chic & Casual S/S ’17 Collection

New York Fashion Week has undoubtedly proven itself so far, as to why it is one of the anticipated fashion weeks on the fashion calendar. So much has happened in just two days from the Prabal Gurung modern contemporary collection to the laid-back, futuristic Alexander Wang and Adidas collaboration. The next few days are sure guaranteed to be fashion revolutionary as we impatiently wait to see what the other household fashion names have created for the human canvas.

However, my heart has been won by no other than Miss Posh Spice herself, Victoria Beckham. For her ready-to-wear Spring 2017 collection that was showcased on Sunday. She made us all reminisce and fall in love with all things velvet, satin and chiffon. Her collection was a perfect fit of high-fashion meets casual-wear. The loose, over-sized and bagginess of her collection was done in such a chic and admirable manner. Making it rather impossible to not to fall in love with the softness and sophistication of the collection.

Image taken from The Fug Girls blog.

So the Costume Institute Gala or simply known as the Met Gala to many people, is definitely one of the most anticipated fashion events on the calendar. However, it is safe to say I was absolutely disappointed with this year’s fashion. The theme for this year’s exhibition and overall evening was “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” as announced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. So basically the focus was fashion meets technology along the lines of futuristic and different, got it? Cool. Great. So it’s safe to say that at this year’s event no one necessarily stuck to theme or tried to be daring, it was so boring!
