Spring is officially here and I couldn’t be more excited! The sight of blooming flowers and sunshine makes everything so much more mesmerising. The fact that we can now pull out all the fun and lightweight clothing and finally say goodbye to heavy puffers, is a definite yes from me.

The off-the-shoulder trend is a spring fashion staple that everyone needs in their wardrobe this season. It is a statement piece that can be pulled off with anything from high-waisted jeans to mini skirts. I had so much fun rocking my off-the-shoulder top with a clean white pair of denims.

I would say my athleisure style is an upscale of chic and comfortability. Which is why this fashion outfit worked so well as a coffee-to-cardio look. This Spring’s Perfect Shoe – The Block Heel

A girl’s best friend is apparently diamonds and I completely agree. However, I think a pair of comfortable and stylish block heels come to a close second.

When you find the perfect pair of heels that go well with every outfit it makes life and dressing up so much more fun and easier! Especially a pair of nude heels that immediately help to elongate your legs – making them look leaner and thinner.

Every person needs a pair of chic and stylish pair of block heels for the upcoming spring/summer season. I’m currently obsessed with my new addition of block heels from RUBI from their latest ‘The Nude Normal’ range. Here are some of my favourite style tips when it comes to styling a pair of flattering nude heels.

The New Streetwear Chic

Early 2000s was the era of tracksuits with celeb stars like Paris Hilton and Kimora Lee Simmons seen rocking the fashion trend. The style has officially made a comeback as athleisure-wear with fashionistas wearing sweatpants and tracksuits at many occasions making it the new streetwear chic. Personally if I could, I would totally be wearing a pair joggers or tracksuit pants everyday! They are the ultimate answer to comfortability.

My current favourite tracksuit that I’ll probably be seen in this entire winter season is from Mr. Price. I was particularly drawn to this tracksuit by its colour and wide arm design on the tracksuit top. The tracksuit is from the Project collection that was recently launched by Mr. Price and it features a collection of fun, sporty and casual items.

Keeping It Slick In A Slip Dress

While it is still Summer in the beautiful city that is Cape Town, I plan to make the most of it and soak up the delicious sunshine. And what better way to strut the streets of Cape Town, but in a chic slip dress. The uniquely designed slip dress from Phoebe&Knox has definitely become one my favourite dresses at the moment. The dress is such a great fit, with material that is so comforting to the body.

When it does get too hot this is when we thank the heavens for the modern day style of slip dresses. Just to clarify for those who may not be 100% sure, slip dresses were originally worn as an under clothing garment to prevent the showing of intimate garments. However, now days most skirts and dresses come with lining underneath that it is not necessary for a person to wear a silky slip dress underneath their clothes. Instead it has now become norm for us to rock the dresses as a fashion expression.

Dripped In Gold

Every year the ‘black girl magic’ just keeps getting better and undoubtedly noticeably. There have been so many ‘wow, it feels good to be a black woman’ moments, although there are still many hurdles to overcome, it is just wonderful seeing black girls and women occupying more spaces than before.

Some of my favourite black girl moments included the release of visuals for ‘Lemonade’ and ‘A seat at the table’ which extruded of some many black pride moments, glorifying the beauty that is black people. While in fashion Lupita Nyong’o and Michelle Obama looked ever so graceful and mesmerising on their individual Vogue covers. And most recently I was ecstatic to hear about Issa Rae receiving a Golden Globe for the relatable and quirky television series, ‘Insecure.’ My goodness there were just so many more black women success moments in 2016, but these are just the few that stood out for me.

Summer Midi Dress

We all love maxi dresses for the warm, summer days they are super comfortable and girly. However, midi dresses are just as great for the summer breeze and can work with almost anything in one’s closet. Midi dresses can be styled in numerous ways to create a super stylish and effortless look or a casual and timeless look. As a summer trend midi dresses are rather under-appreciated, but are definitely your BFF wardrobe item this summer.

Summer Style: Off-The-Shoulder

Summer has always been my favourite season followed closely by Spring. I just love how everything starts looking more alive as the days get warmer during this time of year from the makeup to the clothes. Trends are so much more fun to follow in Summer with everyone adding their own sense of unique style to a particular fashion trend i.e. the off-the-shoulder.

One of the biggest Spring/Summer trends that has undoubtedly made a mark in the fashion space is the off-the-shoulder style. This trend comes in some many styles either as a shirt, crop top, dress or jumpsuit you pick your choice of style. It has quickly become a definite fashion favourite for most fashionistas and stylists. I have even purchased quite a few cute and sexy off-the-shoulder items that I absolutely can’t wait to rock this coming Summer.

A ‘BohoChic’ Choker Collaboration

I am so excited to announce the limited choker range collaboration with BohoChic. I joined forces with the talented and beautiful Trecia Makhubele and Rutendo Masasi, the founders of the unique and fashion-forward brand to create a fun, funky and trendy range of chokers.
